چکیده
Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), primarily docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic (EPA), have received worldwide attention in recent years due to an increasing awareness of their uniqueness improving diet human health apparently inevitable shortage global availability. Microbial cell factories are a major solution supplying these precious molecules sufficient amounts providing PUFA-rich aquafeed, superfoods, medical formulations. This review assesses the PUFA world markets highlights advances upgrading streamlining microalgae, yeasts, fungi, bacteria for high-level production broadening spectrum.

Metabolic Effects of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Chickens: A Review
Chicken has been used as a suitable model for lipid metabolism studies, because dietary modifications especially dietary fat type can change chicken body composition. Fats act as a condense source of energy and certain fatty acids such as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are required for both animal and human health. The n-3 PUFAs, especially, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic ...
متن کاملIMMOBILIZATION OF MICROBIAL CELLS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ORGANIC ACIDS
Techniques of immobilization of microbial- cells have been established by multifunctional reagents such as glutaraldehyed on a solid support. Immobilized cell reactor was designed to demonstrate stability of cross linking of whole cells for the production of organic acids. An eighty-six percent conversion of glucose was obtained for an eight hour retention time. The immobilized cell reacto...

1 Communicative & Integrative Biology 2009; Vol. 2 Issue 5 We recently found positive correlations between human general intelligence and three key indices of semen quality, and hypothesized that these correlations arise through a phenotypewide ‘general fitness factor’ reflecting overall mutation load. In this addendum we consider some of the biochemical pathways that may act as targets for ple...
متن کاملDietary polyunsaturated fatty acids and inflammatory mediator production.
Many antiinflammatory pharmaceutical products inhibit the production of certain eicosanoids and cytokines and it is here that possibilities exist for therapies that incorporate n-3 and n-9 dietary fatty acids. The proinflammatory eicosanoids prostaglandin E(2) (PGE(2)) and leukotriene B(4) (LTB(4)) are derived from the n-6 fatty acid arachidonic acid (AA), which is maintained at high cellular c...
